Fireball Ulster Championships at CLYC

The 2013 Fireball Ulster Championships were held at CLYC last weekend. Fifteen boats mainly from Dublin competed in 6 races over 2 days. Westerly winds gave race officer O'Connor problems on the Saturday but a more southerly breeze on the Sunday made life a lot easier. Race 2 caused a modicum of controversy when the race committee were protested over a procedural issue. As a result race 2 was scrapped, probably no loss as it had been shortened due to disappearing wind.
The Mrs's O'Connor and McParland put on a sterling (or is it more pc to say Euro?) show in the Kitchen and at the BBQ.

The winners counting 3 bullets and a second were Noel Butler and Stephen Oram of RSGYC, in second was Kenneth Rumball and David Moran of INSC, and in third Diana Kissane and Conor Kinsella also from RSGYC.
