The Buzz loses its Sting

With the Cranley Brothers at the helm of Line Dancer, bright sunshine and beautiful force 3 breeze from the south east, things were almost perfect. The first start line had a heavy port bias and the fleet were crowded at the pin end so not enough room for any port flyers. Rooney and McDonagh, Tim Gibbons and Andy Browne got the best starts and rounded the windward mark first. Rooney in the Buzz was never going to get caught on the water but after a bad start the McLaughlins crept past first Browne and then Gibbons to finish second over the line but first on handicap. Gibbons took second and Helen McParland third.

The first race in the B fleet was tense affair with Anna McNulty and Conor Quinn tied for first place, Stephen Finnegan third and David Corkey in fourth place.

Race two was closer fought and Rooney had to fight for even his first place on the water, Helen McParland sailed a cracker in the radial to take pole position on handicap, with McLaughlins second and Gibbons in third. In the B Fleet McNulty wasn't for sharing first place again and finished 41 sec ahead of Finnegan, leaving Quinn to take third and Corkey another fourth.

Cruiser Notes

The results were:
Race 1:
1. Brian McCann - Gannet
2. Don Campbell - Thetis
3. Michael O'Hare - Aurora

Race 2:
1. Brian McCann - Gannet
2. Chris Cassidy - Synergy
