PRIZES GALORE

The annual presentation night and dinner dance of Carlingford Lough Yacht Club was held last Saturday at the Whistledown Hotel. Sailing Secretary Philip O'Connor and Cruiser Secretary Brian McCann, aided and abetted by the eloquent Vice Commodore Chris Cassidy presented trophies for the 2012 season. The Overall A Fleet went to Paddy Rooney and Catherine McDonagh for the third year in a row, surely someone out there can beat them next year? Best youth in the A fleet was Dara O'Connor. In the B Fleet overall honours went to Conor Quinn.

The Frostbite series continued on Sunday and the Vago team of Brown/Burgess ended the L2K domination of the A Fleet with a stunning victory over the McLaughlins in second and Dara O'Connor in third. Rooney/McDonagh found the going too tough and settled for fourth. Surely they will be back in the winners enclosure next week? Conor Quinn continued to dominate the B Fleet with another bullet.

After sailing, the AGM was held at the clubhouse and a new committee led by none other than the ever popular Philip O'Connor was elected to lead the club into 2013 and beyond!
