Successful Weekend for CLYC at Youth Championships.

The largest ever squad to travel to an event from CLYC made their way to EABC in Larne last weekend for the RYANI Youth Championships.

The squad competed in the Laser Standard, Laser Radial and Topper Classes. Two firsts and two seconds secured the standard rig title for Henry McLaughlin J. Conor O’Farrell took second in the Toppers. Tying for 1st place he lost out only on countback. Also sailing well to top twenty placings were Conor Quinn, Stephen Finnegan and Anna McNulty in 12th, 14th and 19th places respectively. In the Laser Radials, Helen McParland had her best ever event taking 9th overall and 4th lady. Dara O’Connor and Paul McParland were not far behind in 14th and 19th places respectively.

Overall a great performance by a talented youth section who look set to secure a few places on the youth squads again.
