PRIZEGIVING & BBQ 25th June 2011
On Saturday 25th June 2011, we are planning to have a race for the O'Farrell Cup (please note this a change from the race originally printed in the rota - we will re-schedule the race for the CLYC Pennant later in the season) starting at 5.00 pm on the water followed by a BBQ and presentation of prizes for the first part of the season. In order to ensure that there is enough food for everyone I would be grateful if people could let Siobhan, Henry, Liz or myself know before Friday 24th June if you are attending. As usual we are asking people to offer to bring a salad or baked potatoes on the night so as to spread the workload.
ORR TROPHY - Every Tuesday at 7pm until the end of August
Chris O'Hare is again very kindly running the Orr Trophy with coaching until the end of June and races in July and August. We have a very small crew of experienced coaches and sailors to go out on the water which leaves us very short handed on shore. I would ask that at least one parent for each sailor be on hand during the session to help with rigging your child's boat and the launching and recovery of rescue boats and sailing boats (ideally be prepared to get a little wet). A rota for shore mother is on the notice board in the club. Please pick a day and put your name up - it's nice for the sailors to have a small treat and a drink when they come in off the water.
SUMMER COURSES
It's that time of year again and the club is again running a full complement of courses in July and August and places are filling up fast. Full details of the courses are on the club website.
DINGHY ROTA
The Dinghy Rota for 2011 is available from behind the bar - just ask Seamus.
Good luck to everyone sitting exams, we'll be thinking of you when we're out on the Lough, honest.
Philip O'Connor
Sailing Secretary
