O’Hare Claims Munster Championship
Photo - Library photo of Tom O’Hare in action
At the Munster Topper Championships in Lough Derg last weekend, Tom O’Hare performed spectacularly in the 4.2 fleet to take four firsts, a second and a third giving him an easy overall win. This was his first big win and no doubt it will not be his last.
CLYC were well represented and Stephen Finnegan was hot on O’Hare's heels to take second place. Myles McManus in his first ever open competition was sailing well to take fourth place.
O’Hare and Finnegan also attended the Ulster Championships the previous weekend where they were 3rd and second respectively.
Club Coach Chris O’Hare praised the lads saying “Stephen and Tom deserve these top results and I am sure we will see them on the NI Youth squad this year“.
Meanwhile at CLYC sailing was again postponed twice this week due to high winds. More races have been lost this year to bad weather than anyone can remember. Hopefully things will improve before the 25th June when we are having a Mid Season Saturday race followed by a presentation and BBQ, so get that in your diary. Summer sailing courses are filling up quickly, so get in touch with Cathy O’Hare quickly to reserve your place. Details on Web site WWW.CLYC.INFO
