As winter rolls in, sailing gets less and less inviting. Southerly winds gusting to 20 knots meant that only the brave launched last Sunday with Race Officers Corkey and Finnegan in charge in the difficult conditions. A slight delay caused by the overdue cleaning of Line Dancer before the race gave folk a chance to test the conditions. A-Fleet experts Rooney and McDonagh continued their good run of form with two bullets. El Commodore O'Connor not put off by a dip, took a fifth and a second.
In the B-Fleet Luke McIlwaine dominated in his Topper with two bullets. Tom O'Hare who has deservedly got his RYANI squad place this year took a second place and a 5th, as did Stephen Finnegan.
Next Saturday night at 8pm in the club we are having a Pub Quiz in aid of the good folk at Newry Hospice, with live music to follow. So sharpen your pencils and brush up your general knowledge!
