A Fitting End to a Successful Season

The CLYC Topper sailors journeyed to Skerries this weekend for the last Traveller of the year. Three races were run efficiently by Skerries Sailing Club leaving plenty of time for the extended prize-giving with CLYC sailors laying claim to their fair share. Anna McNulty picked up 3rd overall and first girl with Stephen Finnegan taking 2nd U14. The annual Traveller series prizes were also presented and Conor Quinn claimed 1st under 14 for the year. Matthew McNulty, while just missing out on a prize will be worth watching next year! Well done guys for a successful year.

Meanwhile back at the club on Sunday, Race Officers Dara and Philip O'Connor ran two great races in challenging conditions. The RS 400's were out in force but the Cranley boys were in fine form after a sailing sabbatical, taking a 2nd and a 4th.

Rooney/McDonagh however stole the first race by a mile (at least). They were less fortunate in the second racing losing out to the McLaughlins by a narrow margin only. Jim Linton was back in tip top form with a 2nd and a third. Andy Browne and David Hicks spent a bit of time learning how to capsize the new boat. When they get that right we can expect some results!
