More Topper Success for CLYC

There was a fleet of 68 at last weekend's Topper Leinster Championships in Blessington. Heavy winds of 35 knots on the Saturday put the sailors to the test. CLYC's team was on top form. Conor Quinn finished first under 14, Anna McNulty was 2nd under 17 and Stephen Finnegan was 3rd under 14. The next stop will be the RYANI Youth Championships, and a good result there would be great.

Meanwhile back at CLYC last Wednesday's race was a drifting match against the tide. There were only two sailors fit to cope with the conditions, Henry McLaughlin Junior who was finished, changed and watered before most folk even approached the last mark, and Ian Roche who took a great second place.

There was a great turnout for the Orr Trophy last week with a good few new sailors testing their skills. There are only a few weeks left, so let's see a good turnout again this week.

There may be one more sailing course this year starting next Monday depending on demand. See www.clyc.info for details.
