Gannet Continues to Clean Up
Atlantic Diva being chased by Aquabat on the start line.
Saturday’s cruiser race continued CLYC’s cruiser Mid-Season series, and what a race it was – full of excitement, with winds of 30 knots plus coming from the North West. GANNET got the best start and led the fleet for most of the race, but AQUABAT made a tactical move on the second lap, by tacking off-shore early, and finally edging ahead of GANNET. However AQUABAT needed to finish almost 3 minutes ahead, and only made it by 2 minutes, so once again, GANNET came out of the contest in first place. This places GANNET very well for the rest of the Mid-Season which finishes in late August.
Results: 1st Brian McCann’s GANNET
2nd Paul Kavanagh’s AQUABAT
3rd Gerry Byrne’s ATLANTIC DIVA
