On the Rocks!

Ian Finnegan and Michael O'Hare had two problems last Sunday. Not enough water and not enough wind. Despite the Man of the Year McChesney's attempts, the leeward mark was dropped in too little water. With an ebbing tide, when the fleet arrived at the mark, problems arose with grinding centreboards. A shame really as the McLaughlins had at this point a good lead over Rooney /McDonagh and Ian Roche. After some confusion the race was restarted in failing wind and with tide still ebbing the windward mark seemed to get further and further away. Rooney got the best of it and took the win albeit shortened at the first gybe mark, McLaughlin had to settle for second and Roche third. The B Fleet managed one lap as the errant mark was moved in time for them. Stephen Finnegan took the win but Erin McIlwaine with second still has a commanding lead in the Frostbite Series overall.

New sails no good in no wind for the McLaughlins

Ian Roche hasn't found the measure of the RS400's yet
