Last Sunday with music still ringing in the ears from the night before a good fleet of boats took to the water, including the welcome return of ace sailors Michael O'Hare and Osmond Morris. Race Officer O'Farrell ably assisted (or more likely hindered) by Tim MacAdorey set a fine course with the windward mark towards Carlingford.
With normal crew Liz in sick bay the McLaughlins had drafted in another "junior" recruit and despite leading on the water by 6 minutes the two Henrys were beaten by just 6 seconds on handicap from O'Hare and Morris. Browne and Hicks had to settle for fourth on handicap from the Cranley boys who are obviously making an early bid for the Frostbite title.
The B Fleet race was won by Tom O'Hare in the Laser 4.7 with Hannahelisa Smyth in second and Erin McIlwaine third.
