The approach to Warrenpoint was nothing if not frustrating with big holes in the wind and shifts every 30 seconds. However Cranley was in form and rounded the Warrenpoint mark with an enormous lead. But with a dead run back to Killowen the Lasers were now at an advantage over the Laser 2000's which cannot sail directly down wind under gennaker. Henry McLaughlin Junior and Richard Cranley along with Jim Linton soon ate into Cranley's lead. The Vago of Browne/Burgess took the chance of heading out to mid lough on the return and it almost paid off but first over the line was McLaughlin Junior taking the Glenny Cup for the second time this year. Cranley/MacAdorey had to settle for third place over the line and fourth on handicap. Stephen Finnegan in the Topper sailed a great race to finish second on handicap.
Wednesday Racing
The B Fleet race was won by Conor Quinn with Stephen Finnegan in second and Matthew Collins in third. Quinn now leads the Wednesday series overall.
The A Fleet race was won by Henry McLaughlin junior with Helen McParland in second and Rooney/McDonagh in third. Only three points separate the leaders in the series overall at present with very few Wednesdays to go.
Cruiser Racing
Chris Cassidy continues his successful run with another two bullets. Rumour has it his new crew Pat Dunbar has had cash offers from other boats but he's not for moving! Gerry Byrne took two seconds and Mick McCann two thirds. Brian McCann was well off form with two fourths. Maybe up the offer Brian?

Stephen Finnegan took a great second in the Glenny Cup
The Cranley Brothers pictured in last Wednesday's Race. Perhaps if Brian had been there for the Glenny Cup things might have been different?
